crazy, busy life...but still counting!

Well the past 2 weeks have been crazy busy. I have been sleeping better than I have in a long time! I think the sleeping better is from 2 factors: eating better and just pure exhaustion from working and living life.

As of last Friday I have lost a total of 5.6 pounds! I am pleased with this progress certainly because it is what is expected when doing Weight Watchers. I will weigh again on Friday and I hope that I see it go down even more. I will admit that I do get nervous about getting on the scale. In WW they try to train you to not be scared of the scale. This is hard especially right now. I feel like I work so hard and watch so closely what I eat that I am worried it will not pay off. My fear is that I will not see results and I will give up easily. I have to always remember that every week is not going to be a huge loss or maybe not a loss at all. I cannot let this get me unmotivated and just remember to make a few changes the next week.

I am so thankful for the support I have been receiving to lose weight. My mom has taken me to help me buy some of the essential groceries, many of my coworkers are showing their excitement for my little changes and accomplishments, and the people reading this are giving many words of encouragement, so thank you!

I have found 2 favorite lunches I would like to share if you are reading this for some tips! The first one is:
-a microwaveable baked potato (3 pts)
-2 tbsp of sour cream (1 pt)
-2 tbsp of black bean and corn salsa (0 pts)
And I add a WW yogurt (1-2 pts) and some fruit (0 pts). I never knew a potato was good without the butter and cheese! It is delicious. One day I actually added some of the Oscar Meyer Southwestern Chicken strips (3 pts) and that added some good protein.

My other favorite meal is a grilled chicken wrap:
-Oscar Meyer ready made southwestern chicken strips (3 pts)
- A little sprinkle of 2% mexican blend cheese (I count 2 pts, but don't use the serving size)
-Lettuce (0 pts)
-and a low-carb whole wheat wrap (3 pts)
-I have some light Lays chips (2 pts)
-a piece of fruit

I am finding that I am using all my weekly 49 points on the weekends and then being very disciplined during the week. I make sure to count EVERYTHING! This is what is working for me right now. I know I cannot deprive myself because that will definitley make me give up. I have to allow myself some leniency, but being mindful and make better choices. If I feel the need to have some french fries to fix a craving, I get the small instead of a medium or large and make sure I count it in my points or apply it to my weekly points. The reason WW works is because it provides for that leniency. It is simply about making better choices and PORTION CONTROL!

The best thing about this past week was that I was able to buy a skirt (for $7) in the regular size, not the "W" size! I was thrilled :) The hardest thing was to not stop for fast food or to go out to eat when I was so exhausted from work. I had to make myself get home and cook dinner. In the end going home and cooking appears to be paying off! I am not having the indigestion I was having before and I am losing weight!
